(seriously, kiss the ground is so good)
We've got two blogs for you this Plastic-Free July so let me keep it brief.
1. Finding eco content isn't always easy. And then you've got to be in the ~right mood~ to watch it. So we've curated a nice little list from short Ted Talks to mini series to documentaries that cover everything from fast fashion to regenerative ag. Enjoy!
~give me all of the eco-content!
2. Remember, it’s not about changing YOU, it's about changing our habits and patterns as a whole so we can show with our actions and dollars that we support brands that give AF and are tired of killing the planet and being greenwashed.
And who knows, you might find a new favorite product in the meantime!

🌳 Kindness loopholes & hands off our history: The National Parks have been through it. They were hit with enormous budget cuts and layoffs in February only to have millions of acres potentially be sold off. Funds that paid for toilet paper & tools have been capped at $1, and in the GOP’s never ending quest to prove that ‘history is being rewritten by the wrong people’ they have put up snitch signs asking visitors to report negative content. Here’s the good news. People have absolutely been sending in submissions but they’re using them to praise park rangers, programs, tours & speak out against the 47th’s ridiculous rules.
🛠️ go Texas! Words I never thought I’d say: Texas recently became the first Republican state to enact Right to Repair laws which ensures people can fix consumer electronics they own instead of being screwed over by monopolies.
💥 Generational change is coming in leadership, is it you? Run For Something is a political organization with the goal of recruiting and supporting young, diverse progressives to run for offices. Since its inception in 2017 it has recruited almost 100K people in all 50 states — from all walks of life. Within a week after Zohran Mamdani took the Democratic nomination in NYC’s mayoral race, Run For Something saw signup from 5,000 new prospective candidates!
🧑🤝🧑 We can get along! If sitting in a multi-day forum with 200 people across a healthy spectrum of political beliefs sounds like your version of hell — same girl, same. But in Pennsylvania, over a handful of days (4), voters talked and listened to each other and people from both sides began to change their minds. But the study, America In One Room, wasn’t about changing people’s minds. It was about showing that civility and conversation can bridge our political divide. “That democracy does work as intended when people actually are civil and can sit down with one another.”
that's all for now, folks!
stay sane & stay sustainable 💚
