tired of being told to buy better?

march's sustainable superstar: Shae O. Omonijo

Shae O Omonijo, harvard PhD, historian, humanist

Meet Shae O. Omonijo, a Harvard PhD candidate, historian, and humanist who's asking the questions we should all be asking: How do we stay human in the age of AI?

Because as much as we don’t like it, AI isn’t going away. But at the same time it doesn’t have to look how the tech bros are shaping it to be.

The thing I love about Shae is that she isn't anti-technology. She's pro-thinking

Through her free YouTube series Critical Thinking in the Age of AI and her venture Analog Social, she's teaching people to reclaim their attention, agency, and ability to think critically in a world designed to make us think less.

AI is rapidly shifting from just being a product or a tool to becoming an invisible layer of infrastructure embedded in society. And Shae believes you don't have to accept it blindly. You can develop your own wisdom and ideals. You have a say. You don't need to depend on elites in a tower making decisions for you.

Taking back your attention is taking back your power. And Shae's showing us how.

Here’s how to support:

a note from paulina:

I like to think I keep it real yet positive in this newsletter.

Positively real? Realistically positive?

Because I want you to feel seen—even if we're strangers across the country, connected only by wanting to do better for the planet and support small businesses.

As you can imagine, my brain is rapid-firing between mini-rants about the current state of everything as I write this. So in my effort to stay realistically positive, I went to my own inbox for inspiration. I wanted to know:

  • What are the brands doing that I follow?

  • What are they saying—or not saying?

  • Do they feel guilty for sending 3-4 emails a week when life feels like the "this is fine" meme?

And it really hit me how different this newsletter is.

None of those emails have intros. None give me a peek into the life or team behind the brand. Sure, they talk about nice things and good concepts, but they're saying a whole lot of nothing via multiple emails a week.

So I really want to thank you.

In fact, I'm reaching through the computer to boop you on the nose and give you a hug.

Because it's overwhelming sometimes to sit down and write when we've just watched another 5 unprecedented atrocities happen in 5 days. What right to I have to show up in your inbox?

But I don't send these emails to "stay top of mind" so you'll buy hangers. That was never the point.

I do it so you know it stays top of mind that you have community you’ve never met:

  • People who are equally fed up

  • People hanging onto hope (and sharing how)

  • People doing good things—even when bad things get more attention

  • People who care just as much as you do

I see you. And I know shit is hard. But holding onto hope and looking for one thing that makes you happy, no matter how small, isn't silly.

march's blog: sustainable living as resistance

Tired of being told to "buy better" to save the planet? Same.

This month's blog isn't about swaps, it's about resistance. We're breaking down what sustainable living actually means right now — free actions that cost nothing, strategic spending that undermines extraction, and ways to get involved beyond shopping.

The green movement is under attack. But resistance is an ecosystem, and there's a place for you in it.

Read it. Share it. Start somewhere.
